My name is Maria Allegria and I’m a Life Coach.
I love to ignite a tiny flame in your heart so you get the life you love!

I was born in England into my wonderful Italian family. I’m on my 2nd marriage and have a beautiful daughter called Sophia. I passionate about Psychology, Hypnotherapy and the Psychology of Dreams.

When I was in my teens and early twenties, I was very shy and I suffered a lot from blushing, nervousness and sweaty palms. Blushing was the worst really, because people could see how embarrassed I was. It’s very debilitating to say the least! But now I’m much stronger and don’t give a damn about what others think. I found that when I started to have strong interests and opinions, it helped me to form my life and I started to believe in myself. My shyness started to fade away.

I started by doing 2 things, I found a person in my community that was worse off than me and helped them. It was just something small. I visited an old lady called Beatrice Gaspari once a week and brought her things she needed. She couldn’t walk and her hearing was very poor too.  Her happy smiling face when she saw me, made me feel strong and gave me a great sense of purpose. I found that taking the focus off myself and putting it on someone else, dissolved my shyness totally. This was when I became interested in Psychology.

Second thing I did was I joined a Salsa Dancing Class!  Sounds daft, but it was brilliant! The music was very uplifting and the people were very friendly. There were some better dancers, but some definitely were worse than me! While I was dancing, it made me laugh out loud, which gave me a great boost inside and sense of happiness and fun. And also another thing I liked about Salsa Dancing, was the fact that I had body contact with people which gave me a boost in confidence and no chance to be shy. As I progressed with my lessons each week, sometimes twice a week, I found that I had great satisfaction in my ability to dance better and better and enjoyed it more every time. Then, I wasn’t scared of being asked to dance by the top dancers any more. I was confident and happy!

This sense of achievement made a big difference in my life and I felt that I could cope with a lot of things that eventually came my way.

I used to be terrified to speak in a crowd, and I don’t mean being on stage, I mean just talking with my friends in a group of more than 3 people!  But now I happily speak in front of large audiences and I have helped many people overcome their fears.

I’m always looking for new challenges, new adventures, new ideas and new people to meet.

If there is anything I can do to help you, please don’t hesitate to drop me a line!

With warmth and love,

Maria Allegria
